"Lawyers Have Heart - Heart After Dark" on March 27th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Greenville
The South Carolina Women Lawyers Association is proud to co-host "Lawyers Have Heart - Heart After Dark" on March 27, 2014, from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Haynsworth Conference Center in the Lobby of the Ogletree Building in downtown Greenville, South Carolina. Please join us for food and drinks at this informative event as we help raise awareness of heart health issues and the impact on women lawyers.
Your heart is a powerful muscle, pumping tirelessly each day. But it's also vulnerable to the effects of stress. And, we have chosen to practice one of the most stressful professions there is. We often focus on the risks that such stress places on our mental health and our susceptibility to substance abuse, but rarely do we ever talk about the physical effects. Did you know that SCWLA member, Meliah Bowers Jefferson, survived a massive heart attack almost a year ago? Did you know that the 13th Circuit Solicitor, Walt Wilkins, and his family have endured his daughter's battle with heart issues? Meliah and Walt would like to share their stories with you and give you an opportunity to hear more about the SC Bar's Sustained program. We invite you to come together with other lawyers and judges (we understand Chief Justice Toal and former Fourth Circuit Judge Billy Wilkins are planning on being in attendance) and experience Lawyers Have Heart - Heart After Dark to learn more about how you can make a difference in your life and the lives of others.
