10/03/16 SCWLA SCOTUS Admissions Trip

The 2016 U.S. Supreme Court group admissions ceremony for the South Carolina Women Lawyers’ Association is scheduled for Monday, October 3, 2016.  We will be accompanied by The Honorable Aphrodite K. Konduros, Judge of the South Carolina Court of Appeals, who will move in open court for the admission of our group to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.  SCWLA has arranged for 25 of its members to have this once in a lifetime opportunity.

To participate in this event, you must be a SCWLA member who pays the $100.00 SCWLA Administrative Fee for the event and the $200 application/admissions fee charged by the Court.  The Court’s Admission Application and the $200 application fee will be due no later than August 18.  Applications will be accepted in the order in which they are received until the group is full (limit of 25 admittees; no limit on total travelers).

Because of the limited number of members who may be admitted on October 3, all persons interested in applying should contact Amie Clifford ([email protected] or 803-760-3072) immediately. Please be aware that you must obtain and submit a certificate of good standing from the presiding Clerk of the Supreme Court of South Carolina (or, if not admitted in South Carolina, from any other state in which you are admitted) evidencing the fact that you have been a member of the Bar of such court for at least three years and are in good standing.

Members already admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States are invited to participate in the trip by completing only the Event Application.  It must be submitted with the $100.00 SCWLA Administrative Fee.
