Postponed 04.02.2020 Olde English CLE | Luncheon

“The Traumatized Witness: Expert Guidance in Interviewing and Presenting the Witness" | Thursday, April 2

The next CLE Luncheon presented by SCWLA’s Olde English Region features one of our own members, Jenny Desch, Senior Solicitor for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit.

Jenny will be reprising a session she presented at the South Carolina Bar Convention in January.  Jenny has served in several prosecutorial roles since 2001 and currently prosecutes drug crimes, violent crimes, criminal sexual assault, and child abuse crimes. She has led a domestic violence unit for York County and has been involved in the Governor’s Task Force on Domestic Violence. Jenny is a fabulous presenter, and you won’t want to miss this session.

If you are a SCWLA member, you will receive 1 hour of free CLE (credit approved in SC) and a delicious lunch provided by Amelie’s French Bakery and Cafe in its Left Bank space at 157 E. Main Street, in beautiful downtown Rock Hill. Please arrive around 11:20-11:30 am to network and enjoy your lunch because the CLE will start promptly at 12:00 pm and end at 1:00 pm. RSVP HereIf you have questions or difficulty registering with the link, please contact Leah Youngblood (803-329-5569 or [email protected]), one of the members of the Olde English Leadership Team who is the point person for this luncheon CLE.

And please consider bringing prospective members. We would love to meet lawyers who may be new to our community or who aren’t aware of the benefits of being a SCWLA member. Non-members will need to pay a modest fee of $20 for lunch and the CLE - or join SCWLA! We hope to see you there!

AND THAT’S NOT ALL FOLKS!

Mark your calendars for the following lunch meetings that are already scheduled!

·         Friday, May 8th - “Implicit Bias and How to Address it to Better Serve Your Clients” by Nichole Davis, Risk Management Director, South Carolina Bar (this will not be submitted for CLE credit, but you do NOT want to miss this phenomenal interactive program that Nichole also presented at the SC Bar Convention)

·         Friday, August 7th - “Ethics and Discipline Update” by Barbara Seymour (approved for one hour of Ethics credit)

·         Wednesday, September 9th - “Resiliency” by Barbara Seymour (approved for one hour of SAMH credit)

The Olde English Leadership Team is cooking up other ideas for great programs and events that will help you maximize the value of your SCWLA membership.  Want to get involved?  Contact any Olde English Leadership Team Member.  We’d love to have your input and ideas on how to make our Region shine!

Sincerely,

Olde English Leadership Team
