Run for a Board Position
The following positions are available for consideration:
- Up to 7 two-year term At-Large positions,
- 5 two-year term Regional Director Positions (Grand Strand, Upstate, Midlands, Pee Dee, and Sea Island Regions).
Any Regular Member of the Association is eligible to serve as an At-Large Member of the Board of Directors.
Regular Members are only eligible to serve as a Regional Board Member for the Region in which she maintains her principal office, as reflected by the membership register of the Association. (Only the members in a region may vote for the regional positions.)
If you are interested in nominating yourself for one of the At-Large or Regional Board seats, please submit a completed nominating petition requiring the signature of five (5) members in good standing (members are included in the Membership Directory). All eligible members submitting a complete nominating petition will be placed on the ballot to be distributed to the Association's membership for voting.
The deadline for submission of nominating positions has been moved back and are due no later than December 8, 2023. Ballots will be emailed out to all members in good standing no later than December 11, 2023 and will be due no later than December 13, 2023.
Serve as an Associate Officer
The Nominating Committee is now accepting nominees for the positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary. If you are eligible (eligibility guidelines below) and would like to be considered for an officer position for the Slate to be created by the Nominating Committee, please submit a letter of interest to the Nomination Committee by email to [email protected], no later December 8, 2023. Your letter should detail your involvement and service in the Association, along with any other information you would like to share.
Eligibility for office (from the Bylaws):
Section 3. Eligibility for Office. Prior to serving as President-Elect, an individual must have served as either Secretary or Treasurer. Prior to serving as Secretary or Treasurer, an individual must have previously served at least one term on the Board of Directors and must have served either as a Regional Representative or Regional Chapter Officer or as a member of a Committee for at least one year. However, these requirements for President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer may be waived by majority vote of the Board if no suitable candidate for President-Elect, Secretary or Treasurer can be found with the qualifications for the office.
All eligible persons submitting a letter of interest will be considered by the Nominating Committee.
After the Nominating Committee has submitted its slate of nominees to the Board, notice will be provided to the general membership so that any eligible member who was not included on the slate may, if the member wishes, submit a nominating petition to be included on the ballot. Officers are elected by the Board of Directors.
