09.13.19 Olde English CLE/Luncheon

Serving LEP Clients Competently, Ethically, and Uniformly

Please join us on Friday, September 13th to learn about how to represent clients who have limited English proficiency.  Our sixth CLE of 2019 will be presented by Jada Charley, President and CEO of SAFE Homes - Rape Crisis Coalition. Many of you may know Jada from her work with Safe Passage.  We are blessed that, despite her move to Spartanburg, she has not forgotten about us, and is willing to travel to Rock Hill to present this interesting seminar on a topic that we all should know more about.

We hope to have great attendance to thank Jada for coming back to see us in Rock Hill. If you are a SCWLA member, you will receive 1 hour of free CLE (credit pending) and a delicious lunch provided by Amelie’s French Bakery and Cafe in its Left Bank space at 157 E. Main Street, in beautiful downtown Rock Hill. Please arrive around 11:20-11:30 am to network and enjoy your lunch because the CLE will start promptly  at 12:00 pm and end at 1:00 pmRSVP Here. If you have questions or difficulty registering with the link, please contact either Nancy Olah (704-779-0397 or [email protected]  or Shiryl Ballard (803-327-7191 or [email protected] , who has generously offered to help Nancy organize this luncheon CLE.

And please consider bringing prospective members.  We would love to meet lawyers who may be new to our community or who aren’t aware of  the benefits of being a SCWLA member. Non-members will need to pay a modest fee of $20 for lunch and the CLE - or join SCWLA!  We hope to see you there!

PS:  If anyone is interested in helping organize an Expungement Clinic at a local school or library to benefit our community, please contact me. Many of us received the Expungement Training in May, but even if you didn’t, you can help us organize this important event. We would like to conduct this Expungement Clinic in October or November on a weeknight evening. For this event to be successful, we need to choose a date, find a good location, and get the word out to relevant groups who may have constituents who could really benefit.
